Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology that enables the transmission of electrical power along with data signals over Ethernet cables. PoE eliminates the need for separate power cables, simplifying the installation and management of network-connected devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and IoT devices. PoE devices consist of power sourcing equipment (PSE) that injects power into Ethernet cables and powered devices (PD) that receive power and data over the same cable.
